Stella Chai
Consultant Podiatrist
Stella graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University, UK with a BSc. (Hons) degree in Podiatry in 2007. Having lived abroad for many years, she decided to return to Asia to work in the public service hospitals in Hong Kong, specialising in diabetes, wound management and limb salvage.
Being Malaysian, Stella wanted to come back to the region to reacquaint herself with her roots and thus decided to join Family Podiatry Centre.
‘I wanted to work in my own country even though I received offers to work in many private and public services in at least three other countries. When Mark offered me a chance to join the practice, I jumped at the opportunity. I love what I do and I would like to be able to use my expertise in a community that needs it.’
Stella enjoys travelling the world and has lived in six countries thus far. She is vivid, enthusiastic and loves to eat. Stella speaks English, Mandarin Chinese, Cantonese and Malay which will allow her to communicate more effectively in the region.
‘It is particularly important to be able to understand what the patient is concerned about and to reassure them in their own language. This is all the more essential when seeing the elderly and the very young.’ Stella is going to have to pick up a few more languages to stay on her toes in this culturally diverse country.
Her open and engaging smile that greets you when you see her, is enough to brighten up your day and make your pain go away. |
