The training program was arranged by a healthcare
centre which operated a centre in Singapore and
Malaysia. After conducting the training he was
offered a position at the Malaysian branch to
develop a department of Podiatry. Having fallen in
love with Asia he accepted the offer. “I had one
drawback though…I already owned a flourishing
podiatry practice in one of South Africa’s coastal
cities, Port Elizabeth.” Due to this fact, he only
took up the position in Malaysia six months later.
“I went back home, got a locum to manage the clinic,
and returned to Malaysia to develop Podiatry.”
On 1 January 2006, he established the Family
Podiatry Centre Sdn Bhd in Taman Tun Dr Ismail. The
clinic was flourished since and serves patients from
all states in Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines,
Indonesia, Maldives, Australia and a large
expatriate community based in Malaysia.
Originally from Johannesburg, South Africa, he is
very fond of nature. “I had to leave my safari
trips, mountain climbing, surfing and running
behind.” However, those activities were very soon
replaced with diving, jungle trekking, photography
and dancing.” Completely taken by what this tropical
country has to offer, he has climbed Mount Kinabalu,
dived our many dive spot, spent hours in our
Sarawakian caves and relaxed at our world class
resorts. He has also represented Malaysia and
Singapore in a group dance performance in California
in 2003.
It is his dream to see Podiatry develop to the point
where Malaysia will have is own Podiatrists
providing podiatric medical treatment to all
Malaysians.
